Appearance

It is Reddish when wet and dark brown with uneven edges when it is dry.

Procedure

Step 1: Soak up stain with a white absorbent material or use a blunt spoon to remove the excess blood.

Step 2: Spray the spot with 1 tablespoon of ammonia and ½ cup of cold water. Apply for less then a minute then blot.

Step 3: Blot the spot with ¼ teaspoon of Dishwashing liquid and 1 cup of cold water. Allow the solution to remain for at least five minutes then blot with a white absorbent material.

Step 4: Apply rust remover solution then blot with a white absorbent material.

Step 5: Apply 3% hydrogen peroxide to the stain. Let the peroxide absorb in to the stain for 30 minutes. Blot using a white absorbent material. Repeat until the stain is gone.

Step 6: Spray lightly with cold water. Apply a pad of non-graphic white paper towels. Weight down the paper towels with a non-staining object

Step 7: Vacuum to restore the texture once the carpet is dry.

Tip

Use latex gloves while cleaning blood to help prevent possible infection.
